I am SO Looking Forward to Raiding my Own Refrigerator
This means:
1. No raw fruits or vegetables and no raw salads. (except bananas and oranges).
2. No deli meats or cold cuts. (no problem)
3. No mold ripened cheeses and soft cheeses such as Brie, Camembert, feta, goat (I LOVE goat), and muenster.
4. No raw fish or shellfish (no problem here)
5. No soft serve ice cream or frozen yogurt. (?)
Lucky for me the hospital food which I can eat is very good and I can order meals whenever I want between 7:00am and 8:00pm. I can get coffee, tea and juice whenever I want. (I’m not sure if you can read this menu, but there are lots of good options, plus desserts and a menu of daily specials). To be honest, however, chemo kind of takes away your appetite (sigh), so a lot of food gets sent back untouched.
and they are “proud to offer” Afternoon Tea (With Cookies)

I am amazed how nicely presented the meals are! Very artistic. They must have quite a kitchen staff.

With a double click I too could order from that menu. So great that half portions are available. Such a humane hospital to consier food as part of your treatment to get well. So, get well soon.

The menu is impressive. Was that a jelly omlet on your plate? I haven’t had one of those since I was a little girl. When I leaving you the other day, there was a group of young chefs ( 6 or so) by the York Avenue entrance. Good practice, cooking for so many people. Thanks for the food blog.

I can’t help but notice that there is A LOT of food on those two dinner plates plus soup, good that they offer half portions. I could eat the menu but hospital food looks the same everywhere somehow.
I hope you find some goodies tonight in your kitchen. I don’t suppose you get halloween candy for kids either, sort of like raking leaves. You just don’t do it in the city??? Or do kids go up and down the hallways in your building. I’ve never thought about halloween in the city. Tell me please what do you do? What did Maggie and Matt do, parties maybe?
BTW, Costco has their seasonal candy out now and their brand, Kirkland, has a plastic jar of “Chocolates of the World.” Truffles to die for, can you eat chocolate? I hope so because I just may have to send you some of these. I adore them. OMG, five extra pounds heading my way as I must eat 3-4 each and every day.
Speaking of Costco (little ad here) I love their roasted chickens, I get one most every time I go. I love to make chicken based soups and chicken chilli with black beans. Today I made chicken tortilla soup and I’ll make chicken stew by cooking the carcass, picking the bones and adding potatoes, onions and carrots. Oohhhhhhh, I like to eat too much to stay thin.
You take care, I’m sending happy, healthy thoughts to you in your own home, I wish I had taken the time to stop and see you when I left the Cape. I really wanted to see the paint job you were so please with. Maybe next May when I’m heading toward the Cape, how about then?
Love you lots, sue
